About Ehime

Ehime Prefecture is located in Shikoku, one of the four major islands in Japan. It is surrounded by the beautiful islands in Seto Inland Sea and the Shikoku Mountains, in where the Mountain Ishizuchi (1,982m) is the highest mountain in western Japan. Ehime Prefecture is nourished by the nature of sea and mountains. It is warm and seldom rains, not much typhoons, or covered with snow. Perfectly for sightseeing throughout the year.

Besides the castles, temples and cityscapes which have been preserved for centuries, Ehime Prefecture has many other attractive local culture built by the residents from long time ago.

Location

Ehime Prefecture is located in the northwest of Shikoku, one of the four major islands in Japan. To go there by plane, first take a domestic flight to Matsuyama Airport, from there it takes around 30 minutes to the Matsuyama city center by car or bus. To go there by train, take the Sanyo Shinkansen and get off at Okayama Station or Fukuyama Station, then change to the conventional train or bus which takes 1-2 hours to the Imabari city centre.
